Soil Remediation

We provide the most important soil tests for heavy metals and for volatile organic compounds. We recommend testing after Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the clean up is completed in your neighborhood and after you've removed at least 1/2" of soil throughout other areas of your property. We then walk you through the test results and give you our recommended soil remediation program.

Planting is an important part of soil remediation, because plants share a symbiotic relationship with the soil. The rhizosphere, or root zone of plants gives the microbes in the soil the food they need and in return the microbes give the plants essential nutrients and much more. We are happy to provide this step for you. We can also plant a real organic edible garden or orchard for you.

The soil remediation services we perform are easily laid out in Randy Ritchie's book Soil Remediation for the LA Fires. They are as follows: TOXIN FLUSHING: This step is vital to getting the toxins flushed that have permeated the entire lot. This step is what most people aren't mentioning. We perform the entire protocols of biologically flushing toxins so you don't have to. BIOLOGICAL INOCULATION: Biological inoculation is necessary to bind the heavy metals so that they become inert in the soil. Some metals are taken up by the plants, but biological inoculation minimizes that. Adding biology also is needed to bring back the soil life that organically grows your plants the way nature intended. COMPOSTING:​ Composting is the final phase and less and less is needed over time. Good, clean, safe real organic compost adds biology to the soil, feeds the existing soil life, adds organic matter, creates good soil structure and feeds your plants for a lifetime. We only use the best farm made, organic composts.

On properties that are coming back from total loss, we help establish a maintenance program that continues to foster and grow the biology in the soil prior and during planting. For those with existing plants in place, we provide seasonal maintenance to continue growing the soil life for you the real organic way.

We re-test your soil to analyze the progression post-remediation and determine any additional steps that may need to be taken, if any.
